Submit a drawing of Cash, and it’ll be stitched into the music video for his haunting posthumous song, “Ain’t No Grave.” You can watch the video in different ways, with different images. I only wish the frame rate was a bit slower to take in each one, but, the effect works nicely.

Aural Story of the Week – Johnny Cash
Over at EpiBlog this week, I reviewed “At Folsom Prison.” The lead track is also the best one:
When I was just a baby,
My Mama told me, “Son,
Always be a good boy,
Don’t ever play with guns,”
But I shot a man in Reno,
Just to watch him die,
When I hear that whistle blowin’,
I hang my head and cry.
I didn't know this yesterday
It is possible to do a pitch-perfect version of Rod Stewart’s “Maggie May,” in Spanish (via @ericnwhub). What’s more, Ol’ Blue Eyes took My Way from a French dude. But only Johnny Cash can do “Walk the Line,” even when it’s in German.
Songs of the city
Next American City has a song for your city. For pure blunt representation and overt advertisement, I’ll Fats talkin’ about all the pretty ladies in my hometown any day. The Beatles did a decent job too. Though I’d certainly love a mention from Johnny Cash, or have Elliott Smith come off a suicidal ledge (temporarily, RIP) to walk into the sun in my city.
